O'Reilly's and other places like that sell the vinyl paint. I've used it on my Crown Vic and it works really well. Sticks to plastic bezels and stuff like that a little better than normal spray paint. Definitely sand thick paint like that with about 300 grit normal sandpaper.. Then wetsand with about 1000-1500 to get it smooth, spray it, then wet sand again. Don't be afraid to use a little buffing compound when you're done (;

wow that sucks. I had something similar happen to me when I tried painting the rear door bezels on my SS this last summer, but I think mine was caused by the fact that my garage was over 100 degrees, and I did not have that problem when I did the front door bezels a few months earlier when it was much cooler

Good Luck with fixing it

OMG that made my *** hurt just looking at those pics!

Tip for ya, once you get it all sanded and smooth. rinse it off with water then dry it completly.

Paint it all one dark color. preferd is black. use a scotch bright pad to smooth it, GENTLY smooth it, you are basicly cleaning off the furryness... then get it compltly wet again, prefered is to slowly run water across it as you closly look for flaws. as the water will show EVERYTHING, dents, scratchs, waves etc... use a water resistant marker and circle the spots you find..

If you take your time and do this, it will be glass smooth and your paint will go on ALOT better..
If you use some 2000 grit wet sand paper while running water over the part and sanding at same time, it will greatly speed this up. all it takes is a trickle of water to rinse off the debries as you sand.

Rule of thumb when painting. 90% of the finish is in the PREP work.
