Most of you know about the problems ive been having but after everything its been pretty good while I wait for the new rear expansion valve to come in. Anyway I got out of work 1 hour ago and rite now its 101 degrees outside with 40% humidity. I started the truck, opened the windows half way, turned the a/c on high for 20 mins before I punched out. When I got in the truck it was blowing around 73 degrees after the short ride home it only dropped to 58 and once I got off the highway it was around 61-63. This is not cool! I was actually kinda happy with it.

The online vendor called me today to tell me they received the bad rear expansion valve and said there is leak sealer in there that caused the valve to fail. They said not to install the new one until I have it flushed out. There probably is chit in there thats why the new expansion the first shop put in failed.

No never, hopefully the shoe maker who found the problems has flushing capabilities.

Ouch. Any shop that does a/c should always have flushing equipment and should know when to use it.

Gotta call them tomorrow before I head down there. I wonder what else may be plugged up with this crap. I must say this is like a nightmare that I cannot wake up from!

really would be expansion orifices. everything else is hard to clog up unless you dumped a huge can of sealer because the lines are not extremely small.. This why I never use sealers on anything.

You would think so wouldn't you. I was at sears the other day getting an oil change, and saw the machines they use to recharge a/c units. Boy have things changed. A box on wheels with the gauges built in and computer readouts. That's probably all the people know how to work anymore. The last time i worked on a/c my buddy was the one with the gauges that you hang on the hood, the vacuum pump and the tank of freon. He could tell by what those gauges read just what was going on with the system, and how much to put in. Never had a problem and the a/c was always ice cold! Hopefully your new shop has someone that knows more than what the computer on wheels says and can figure out what's going on!!
