This is the 07+ forum, but there should be a strap between the butt and the back rests. The butt part folds upright against the driver/passenger seat. Then there should be a handle on the ground straight down from the back rest and it should fold down flat... I'm going off assumptions from the captains chairs in my old 04 Denali

My Hoe has a button you push?? I don't know if this is an 07+ feature but maybe you have power folding seats?

I saw that ... I don't know if power folding seat is an 07+ option or not? maybe that was not clear in my thread?

if his 04 has power folding seats maybe he has a button?

The 04's didn't have a power folding option that I know of... I had an 04 loaded Denali, didn't have that feature but I did have the captains chairs

Actually this is the 2000 to 2006 forum but like he said, if it's like my 2000 '** there is a little tag or loop right in the middle of where the back meets the bottom. Pull that to lift the bottom and on mine you don't even need to pull a lever, the motion of folding the bottom forward pulls a cable that releases the back and it folds right down (although the cable connection is broken on one side and I need to follow it back to the lever it pulls and pull it by hand).

yep. if your front seats are too far back, the 'bottom' doesn't fold far enough forward to release. I have to give it a push against the front seat to get the back to release.
When the back unlatches, the headrests will "auto-magically" fold out of the way also.
