I've seen some kits online that allow you to add bluetooth to factory NAV for the 2003-2006 Denali. I was trying to read up on the Parrot brand kit, but I'm completely lost on how the kits work. Can anyone help me out here?

The add-on kits, such as the Parrot, Motorola ihf1000, hf850, connect to the speaker wires and the mute wire.

When a call comes in, the unit sends 12V to the mute wire of the NAV. IF you are listening to AM/FM/XM, it will mute the radio.

If you are listening to a CD, it will pause the CD.

You can then hear the caller's voice over the speakers. Some of the bluetooth units comes with their own little speaker you can mount in the corner, in case you do not want to use the stock speakers. So at the very minimum, you have to at least connect to the NAV's mute wire, otherwise the music will keep playing.

I don't run any iPods in my truck, so I don't know how well they behave with those.

There are harnesses that you can buy that make everything almost plug and play.

If you don't use your OnStar, get this http://www.costartech.com/pb/products/bluestar.html

It plugs in to your OnStar box and you use the OnStar buttons for Bluetooth using a Motorola HF850.

Search it and you'll see everyone who has done this, loves it. I eventually get to it. It's on my MOD list, just not real high up...
