Im guessing your talking about the tails?

some people use VHT Nightshade or whatever it is...usually doesnt turn out good at all (unless your JKmotorsports)...but most everyone takes them to a body shop and they have them painted...they use acrylic paint I think..Im not sure...lemme go find a few links for you

I used nightshades. It took a couple of tries to get the tint to lay evenly and at the proper thickness. I wetsanded my tails first then sprayed them in multiple really light coats, then wetsanded again and buffed. Just make sure that you take your time and allow yourself time to do it correctly. Unlike paint, any unevenness will show up when the brake lights light up. So far, I've liked using VHT.

I did the same thing only i put a lot of clear coat on once the nightshade set up. I would seriously try it. the VHT nightshade was like 13 bucks + 7 for the clear and maybe five bucks on sandpaper cause i didn't have 2000 grit. clean em good after wet sanding. It took me three days to finish, but i gave them generous dry time between coats.

I used the nightshades and afterwards used some 1500 and 2000 grit paper and wet sanded them, followed by a cleaner/wax and they ended up looking really good. It actually took some of the dark tint out of it too which is what I wanted.

I thought about putting clear over mine, but after I wetsanded with 800 and 1500, then hand buffed, they were pretty smooth and shiny. Only problem I had with mine was keeping everything evenly sprayed and even more, even when I sanded it smooth. But after slowing down, it became easier. Also, if you put it on too thick, it cracks as it dries, then you gotta sand everything back off.
