How does my Yukon know when the door is open or closed?

My driver door and two rear doors all trigger the dome light when they're open. The front passenger used to, intermittently trigger it and then finally stopped triggering the dome light. My wife is convinced my Yukon doesn't like her. I told her that was fair since she doesn't like the Yukon either. However it would be nice for that to work again. I don't see a traditional jamb switch like on other cars. How does the Yukon do it?

One other tidbit--sometimes the driver door controls don't affect that same passenger door's lock or window. I can reach over and use the switches on the door and the window and locks work fine.

Ideas?

It's now built in to the latch mechanism inside the door.

Does anyone have a diagram/part # of this latch mechanism? I am having a problem similar to the original poster except its the passenger side rear door that, when opened, doesn't turn on the dome light. All other doors make the light come on as expected.

lol the first day I had my yukon, the doors auto locked. after I left the truck and was like 25feet away. not sure if I changed a setting somewhere but now it doesn't do it. I think it's psychotic some days and other days psychic.
