Good question. Never heard of it. I haven't seen and grease fittings on the chassis. I did recently replace my body mounts, as they were exposed and in poor condition, during another recent project on the truck.

There’s only one or two zerk fittings to grease. At 175k it’s time to rebuild your front end with new U/L control arms, tie rods, sway bar bushings.

I've got 11 zerks on my 2008 2500. It's a carryover GMT800 suspension. Upper/lower ball joints, 3 for the steering linkages.

I lubricate my entire chassis yearly with fluid film LOL. It creeps into all places and keeps moisture out. It doesn't harm bushing, etc and I've never had an issue. The only adverse side affect is your truck will grow a fur of oily-dust as the years go by, but it's better than corrosion in my book.

The only real "lubricatable" points are in the steering system, and perhaps the ball joints (depending on year). Those however, should be checked, topped off, ever couple of oil changes though. The other points of movement would the sway bar bushings, control arm bushings, rear axle linkage bushings, etc. How you choose to lubricate them us up to you, but there are many vehicles out there that have never had it done and are still functioning.
