Just a few pics real quick to show y'all how I painted my rotors. I purchased new rotors about a month ago and didn't have time to paint them before I put them on, so I fixed it this weekend.
I used a wire brush to get must of the surface rust off and then did a few coats of Duplicolor black caliper paint
Before
and during
you can see I painted where the brakes hit the rotors. you can leave it like that and the first time you hit the brakes, it will take the paint off. However, I took a rag and some brake cleaner to it. I sprayed the rag with brake cleaner, and then took the rag and wiped off the paint where the brake pads contact it. Again, any leftover will be take off the first time you hit the brakes. I did the rotors, calipers, and you can do anything else back there while you're at it.
finished
You can't really tell anything is done with my rims on, but that's the way I like it. It's clean and black behind the rim. Only thing I'd color behind there is if I had a BBK on there. What's so easy about this is you can pull he rim back off at any time and wipe everything down and repaint it real quick.
