How often should the air ride compressor be going off?

It might be a coincidence but since the weather has dropped below 50 it seems my air ride compressor is going off more and more. Seems like I hear it every 15-30min or so. Also quite often in reverse. Is that normal?

Nope. Check your shocks. You probably have one that gave up the ghost.

The compressor should come on for up to 10 seconds, about 10 seconds after you start the truck. You should not hear the compressor come on while driving, unless you loaded the back of the truck down, such as a trip to Home Depot.

As stated above, it would appear that you have (1) a blown shock (air bladder perforation), or (2) a leak in one of the air lines or connectors running from the compressor to the shocks. My guess is that you have a blown shock air bladder.

Or (3) the vent valve on the compressor has failed.

I bet the airbag shocks are shot. Get some new ones from Arnott. Been working great on mine. Pump only turns on a few seconds in the morning, maybe 5 sec on a cold day. I also replaced the pump with a plug and play Dorman pump. Like somealse said, valve might be shot. Easier to replace the entire pump unit.
