Well, look at it. The high is powering the low when the highs are on, so the grey is on the high end. The lows are powering the fogs when the lows are on, so the grey is on the low end.

Done the opposite way as you suggest, the lows would come on with the fogs. If you're using fogs, your lows are probably on anyway due to the sensor. So it is redundant. However, this results in what I was trying to avoid, which is the need to turn the fogs on at start up every time. With my setup, when my lows are on, my fogs are on. When highs are on, lows are on, thus fogs are on.

Ok thank you I understand now. I was just curious. I will do the same today!

Just want to throw a shoutout to Grimes. Hardest part about it all was getting that low beam relay back in lol I now have auto fogs with the lows and didn't have to splice into anything and can be removed if(which not probable) I sell the vehicle

Glad to hear it went well. And I agree, the hardest (and honestly the most concerning) part was taking a set of pliers to those relays and brute forcing them out. Neighbors probably thought I was nuts.

Yeah I already had the 6-hi mod done but wanted the auto fogs. Didn't want to deal with all the splicing and found your way and couldn't be happier

Just to add a little insight.

If you flatten the end of the diodes with a hammer, they fit in the relay prong holes so much better and easier.

Dont go crazy when you are hammering the tips of the diodes. Just a couple of whacks to get it out of roundness and flat like a prong.

Took me 10 min and looks sweet. I just gotta get HID's for my high beams now!!

I love the pennytech mods, this a great one, really useful. Thank you to those folks that took the time to post pics and describe this easy mod.

If you do the above, which is much more involved, you will have auto fogs with the auto lows, but also the ability to turn on and off the fogs. If you do not care about turning them off and want them on whenever your lows are on, simply do the following:

20131215_145242_zpsc24b7ec9.jpg

In that image, just do the wire that is towards the bottom of the image. It links the low to the fog, so whenever the lows are on, the fogs are on. Be sure the diode is facing the correct direction.

So that is a simple diode from HDLP-Low 85 to FOG LP 86.
This post really cleared things up for me. I want my fogs on with the lows, and the lows in with the highs.

Stupid simple right here. That first OP post work fuzzy photos really messed me up. I'm a visual person who likes to see things.

I also wouldn't mind the DRL, lows, and fogs on 24/7 and pulling back or switching forward on the high lever creates 8 lights all on at once.
