You can jump the relay terminals with a diode. I converted my DRLS to Amber running lights and covered my photo cell, on top of the full time fog mod. Now I have full time, full auto: Lows, Running lights (w/Amber DRLs), Projectors, and Halos (w/leds) that I wired to the running lights and blinkers, so they blink as well. I can still control my lighting: Full time, full auto with "Off", "Parking only", Parking w/ Fogs", and the 8 - Hi mod (if you count the DRLs). All in all, I love the setup. It's really effective when you're in the passing lane, or on a dark road.
BTW: I Love Your Sig!!
.
if you have a 99-02 chevy you can do the high 4 for free by grounding the yellow wire on the driver side headlight.....
I've Been Wanting to do exactly what you did. I have an 01' Denali XL. Which route did you take to keep the DRL's on? Hardwire Diode From Parking lights to DRLs or Diode the DRLs to Low Beam through Fuse Box?
Thanks in Advance,
Ryan
Sorry Newb Here but would I ground the side of the wire coming from the Headlight or Coming from the Fuse box?
Thanks
I just read it. It looks good. Only thing I would change if I were you, is change the words "fuse" to "relay". You didn't tap into the fuses, you tapped into the relay terminals.
Glad to see you got it all squared away though! Congrats.
i have an 03 yukonxl.my truck came with a separate button for the fogs, meaning i can turn on my fogs with out having to turn the lows on. and ofcourse when the hi's are turned on the fogs shut off..do i just need to do the 4 high mod or the 6 since i can turn my fogs on when ever. or will they still shut off with just the 4 high mod?
Depends what your end goal is. Do you still want your Low's to be on at the same time as High's or do you only want fogs on at the same time?
If you skip the low beam part and just wire your highs with the fogs you can do a 4 high that way. The only bad part about that is if you have HID fogs they will turn of and back on for a split second whenever you flash or use your brights. This is why some people do Fogs to Lows, the Lows to Highs so you don't get that flicker.
