I have a 2000 Tahoe limited and I had a p0420 so I decided just to get rid of both cats. I went on Jegs.com and got straight pipe fitting that eliminates both Catalytic converters. Now. I constantly keep getting these P 1133. An P1153 codes making my truck run like crap.I've used the oil fouler Method. And still doing the same thing as anybody had this problem with these codes?

First: Welcome to the forum from Oregon.

Second: The codes are for the front two O2 sensors and you may have damaged the wiring to them when doing the exhaust work or damaged them. Either wiring repair or replace the front sensors.

We recommend that you put all your rig(s) info in your signature so we all don’t have to guess at year, make, model, engine size, trans, rear axle locker…….etc. Makes it way easier on all members that attempt to help, to have that info right up front. It is also recommended that you take a pic of your RPO codes, on the inside cover of the glove box, and post that image in your signature. All this info will greatly help those that will try to help with a problem.

If there is any other info, like upgrades, mods or recent mechanical/maintenance work done, that would be helpful in any post as well. Too many times a question is asked by the poster and after about 10 responses we find out that the poster has done recent work to attempt to fix the problem or work that was done that SEEMS not related to the problem.

sounds like it would have been simpler to just cut out the cats and put in some universal ones. not sure exactly how you did the cat delete but your front o2 sensors get left on with no foulers and your rear o2 gets the anti fouler. if that's how you have it setup above post is probably correct.

I thought you put them in the front o2 sensors. So I need to put the fouler on the rear O2s and just screw in the front to regular.

the front o2 sensors read directly off the engine the rear ones read the cats. your trying to trick the rear ones by pulling them out of the exhaust flow so they read less of the exhaust and think the cats are still there. you want the front o2 sensors to read the full exhaust flow as those ones are supposed to so they see how the engine in running and help make possible adjustments. the rear o2 only read the condition of the catalytic converters.

no problem id like to comment most states you could definitely run into state inspection issues with no cats. even where im at its still just a visual inspection of the emissions system but they still have to physically be in the exhaust system. so if you need to put the cats back in some universal cats will do the job.
