Hi guys, I bought a full set of interior LEDs from HIDGUY and love them. In case you wanted to upgrade your rig, here is a how to. Bear with me…this is my first how to heh. Note: Check the polarity of the LED and mark them which way they work. If they do not light turn them over / rotate.
The Tools:

263510_560196461783_214201925_32028433_358710_n.jpg

1 Pocket screw driver (flat end was useful)
1 Philips screw driver med. Length.
1 Miniature 45 degree needle nose pliers
1 Knife (not pictured)
1 Sharpie (not pictured)

I started with the door lights. It was easy I put the pocket screw driver against the back of the housing (closest to outside edge) and just pried till they popped out. Pulled out the connector, pulled out the old 194 bulb. Installed the LED replacement noting the polarity. (Through trial and error). Checked if the LED lights up. It did so I was done. Found the 194 led base is slightly larger than the standard bulb. So I used my knife and cut out a small amount to make the diameter larger.

Pushed back into the door and done. Repeat on all doors.

Then I decided to do the roof lights. Again using the pocket screw driver I removed the housing lenses. Behind the white center lens there is a bulb and two Philips screws which hold the light up to the roof and also act as a ground. Do not remove the light yet! Take the LEDs and figure out which way they need to go to light up. Mark the direction with the sharpie. Then I removed the screws and brought the light down. I removed the bulbs. I found it easier to change the independent map lights with the light off the roof than when it was mounted. To change the map lights just hook one end then pull to the other and the tabs will create resistance and keep the LEDs in place. Replace left and right map light, mount the light back on the roof and install the center LED. Check operation. Reinstall plastic housing note that the housings have notches on them. Line them up with the appropriate side. Repeat for the rear and center dome light.

Next I went onto the front map lights. (This maybe slightly different for you) I do NOT have rear A/c, I have/had a roof console. (Mostly removed due to sunroof). Again using the pocket screw driver I removed the empty slot for the console. There is a screw holding it to the roof. There is also a screw just in front of the rear view mirror. Remove both Philips screws and bring the map light holder down. Unplug the lights. Separate the map lights from the console. 3 Philips screws. Plug the map lights back in and check LED polarity and mark it. Trust me it makes things easier. Insert the pocket screw driver through the light and push on the lens from the inside to push it out. Using the pliers gently grab the 194 bulb and pull it out. Install the marked LED. Turn the light on and it should light. If it does not light you may need to change the polarity, using the pocket screw driver you can push out the led from inside the housing similar to pushing the lens, just push the bulb out. Or you may need to bend the metal contact tabs to make good contact with the LED. Check the fitment and play with it. Eventually they will work. Once they work reinstall the lens by pushing it back it. Possibly use some super glue if your lens does not stay. (Mine worked without anything.) Reassemble the map lights and overhead console. Reinstall.

Almost finished, I change the glove box light. Start by removing the glove box. One the glove box is removed to remove the bulb you need to push in the switch to turn off the glove box light and pull down at the same time to allow the housing to come out. Once it’s out use the pocket screw driver to pry up the metal refractor. Pull out the bulb, check polarity with led and install. Reinstall the light and the glove box.

Lastly I changed the foot well lights; on the passenger side against the right lower pillar is a socket. Just pull out the bulbs and replace, on the driver side on the left lower pillar is a socket, replace.

Below I included the links for the LED Bulbs kits we have ready to order; just order the Interior LED Upgrade and that will include the Domes and Map Lights and in all honesty we have the brightest version of those Map Light Bulbs on the market.

95-99 Chevy Tahoe LED Upgrade Packages:

Got them all through HID guy, just gave them all the numbers on the old bulbs and Mario worked his magic. Remember I'm on a 97 2 door so I hope most of the bulbs will be the same. I saw a 98 Suburban and it had a hell lot more lights.
Here is a list of bulbs my truck uses:

Quantity Bulb # Description
1 211-2 Rear Dome
1 562 Rear Dome L
1 562 Rear Dome R
1 211-2 Center Dome
1 562 Center Dome L
1 562 Center Dome R
4 37 Vanity Mirror
2 168 Map Reading
1 194 Driver Foot
1 194 Passenger Foot
1 194 Glove Box
1 168 Driver Door
1 168 Passenger Door
1 194 Ash Tray

All comes down to:
2 211-2
4 562
4 37
4 168
4 194

Did you ever do the Vanity bulbs ?

I would be willing to consider working something out if there's anyone interested in doing something similar to this write-up for the vanity bulbs.

Let me or Mario know, thanks guys.

Vanities are # 37s and there are 4 of them. I'll grab some new pics of ALL the lights working and post them up in a day or two.
