How to remove the "sail panels" "Appliques" ?????

What's the best way to remove what call the sail panels.. On my 14 denali it's the
black plastic pieces above the taillights next to the hatch door on both sides.
I'd like to remove them and fix/repair how they are mounted. One is really loose and
vibrates at the car wash.. Don't want to lose it !!!!

FWIW they're called appliqués.

They come off easily. I believe remove the taillight and then there are a couple screws that hold them in place along with maybe a couple clips. While they are off, there are a couple interior pressure vents behind them that sometimes break so would probably be a good time to put new ones in as well.

These appear to be similar to how the GMT800 ones are mounted. One screw at the top and the rest are clips.

pretty easy to take off once you have the lights out of the way I removed mine to put the escalade style lights on instead

I'll pull em out and figure out why they rattle so bad !!!!

could try using some stick on foam padding in strategic places to prevent rattling, same stuff you might use under a gap in a door to the house or garage, cheap to grab a roll and trim to fit as needed.

I think I'll do something like that.. I've got some 3M automotive molding tape
that I may put in a couple of areas sparingly !!

3m sticky back velcro. the soft side works great for fixing rattles. anywhere I find plastic rattling on plastic, I put some and it makes everything better

sadly I've probably used 20ft of it inside plastic panels my c6 and only a few inch on the yukon lol. freaking plastic rattle trap in the shape of a car haha.

I used flocking tape in a couple areas and it helped significantly
Also Cleaned up all the crap and debris trapped behind the housings
and applique !!!
