If I could've saved $89 to drive 60 minutes round trip, I sure as hell would've done it.[/URL]

Most people don't have the patience or time to drive to the Chevrolet dealership that serves them best. Furthermore, a person shouldn't have to drive to a dealership 30 miles away because they have better service than the local dealership.

I've never had warranty or service problems at my local Ford dealership. And I can't recall a single time my local Ford dealer charged or overcharged me a single dime in warranty or repair services. Maybe keeping customers happy and establishing repeat customers is why Ford didn't have to borrow billions of dollars from the government to remain in business.

Who said anything about better service? If he has a problem with something the original dealer did, take it to the original dealer so they'll make it right. Once again, why should dealer B pay their mechanics to fix dealer A's mistake? Someone can say that they will come back to dealer B in the future just to get a free fix and never go back.

What about the $5.9 billion Ford loaned from the government in 2009? :Boo:

The OP could've bought the screwdriver, sockets and vacuum and taken off the door panel himself and still paid less.

Ford Loan vs bailout

Ford did not receive "Bailout" funds as a result of poor performance during the down economy. They did borrow from the Government in order to retool their factory which was part of the Government mandate to produce more fuel efficient cars. This program is completely separate from the bailout program and was established to make it affordable for all auto companies to upgrade their facilities to meet the new requirements.

For what its worth, I do not own any ford products but I do respect their ability to endure the downturn in the economy. Don't try to twist the facts in order to support your story. Many companies borrow money from the Government to make facility upgrades that are vital to the success of Government led initiatives.

I fail to see how a $5.9B loan isn't a preemptive bailout. I highly find it improbable that Ford could've fared better than the others without that loan.

Honestly like the others said, Ford sucks (MAYBE besides a completely built Mustang or a Ford GT I wouldn't touch them with a stick) relatively. Regardless, this isn't a debate about which company is better or who got money from the government, this is about how a dealership is being logical.

IMO, the complaint should be filed against the dealership that did the shoddy work.

.... Ford sucks.....

....this isn't a debate about which company is better.....

You do realize your two statements contradict each other? :)

It's all personal preference. I am a Ford person and a GM person. I have good luck with both. I have both in my current fleet of vehicles. Impalas, Excursion, Explorer, Tahoe, Crown Victoria, Ford van, Ford F250, etc...

I am leaning moreso back to Ford after my most recent experience with Chevrolet warranty, service, and failure to repair a serious safety defect in my Tahoe. I told the dealer what needed to be replaced, they ignored me and took the $2 route in saying they fixed the problem. $400 later, out of my own pocket, I fixed the problem when warranty would not. End of story! :fca5278d:

Members, I submitted my complaint and today I received a call from customer service stating once thy talked to both dealers they agreed that I should not have been charged. They are issuing me a $100 GM gift card.
