How to turn off your daytime running lamps (DRL)

DRL= Daytime Running Lights

Basically your low-beam headlights are on ALL the time as soon as you turn the engine on...which makes it really hard to hide from people at night

Apparently, pulling the fuse doesn't work for everyone as stated by bowtiefreak, but it worked great for me.

Thats how you lose the cops at night lol 2 lefts and a right, pull into a driveway with your lights off and just put it in park and watch them pass you while they decide "which way did he go?" haha priceless

i mean i know what they are but im not sure if i have them? do all the tahoes have em?

I believe so. Best way to check is on your cluster. If there's a high beam indicator thats green when you turn on the truck and the e-brake is released, it should be on. If not check your fuses. IMO

I know this is an is a kinda old thread but I just pulled the fuse tonight after installing some HIDs and it worked for me to. 1996 Tahoe LT 4d 4wd...

Do all tahoes have DRLs?? If so my hoe came with them undone and they only turn on by switch now. My hoe also came with that stupid ass buzzer that goes off when your keys are in the ignition and everything

I'm not sure if they all did, but my '99 SLT did. Unfortunately my yukon has a broken window motor, so pulling the buzzer module was more of a necessity for me since I'm too lazy to drill out all those rivets right now. If you haven't done it already, look up under the dash by the steering wheel and yank out the black plastic box that's about 1.5" x 2.5" that's plugged into the fuse block...no more buzzing...EVER! Search for "buzzing" on the tech info obs threads if you need a picture.
