Hello,
I recently completed a heater core replacement.
prior to the truck sat say 18 months with no battery. Upon putting a battery in the hvac was stuck on defrost only. There has always been a clunking that randomly goes off that I suspected was the actuator for the recirc door.
Long story short I took the opportunity to replace both of these.
However now the new recirc door actuator does not respond to the control panel at all.
And from what I can see the blend door is still defaulting to defrost.
Ive pulled the fuse and attempted a reset, I am sort of at a loss here.

You may have installed the wrong ones. The computer also does not like aftermarket units. After quite a bit of research and kicking the can down the road, I finally bought a couple of actuators as all of mine were throwing codes of one sort or another. Well, the one I was certain was it, responded opposite of commands and then the others went wonky. Swapped it out with another and it was perfect. So make sure it's the right one and the best way to tell is by holding the old one in your hand and deciphering what's left of the sticker for part numbers.

It also possible that the actual door broke and if so, you'll have to take the dash apart to take the box apart to replace it. All that time sitting, some critter might have crawled up in there and made it his home for a while and done some redecorating!

i'm with James you might have put in the wrong actuator, one may fit and look the same but it wont work, unlikely the actual door broke inside but you can check it by pulling the actuator and turn the door by hand.

I work at a local part store part time and matched the actuators up by the pinouts or so i thought.
I can certainly remove it and double check.
I should note this model does not have automatic climate control. It is all manual.
