Hey guys. This thing is driving me nuts.

First off, its a 1997 Tahoe 4dr 2wd 350/auto.

Blinkers, hazards, tail lights, etc. all work fine. I first checked all the fuses and did not find any blown so I figured it must be the brake switch. After having a blast changing that out (lol) they still didnt work. Im at a loss at this point. The only thing I can think of is that when we bought the truck a few months ago, the 3rd brake light was messed up and would halfway fall off going down the road. I just took it off and snipped the wires going to it. Did this somehow screw up the other brake lights? Any and all help is appreciated.

Doubt it. Looks like you got pinched wires. Did you by any chance tape the wires up when you snipped them? If not then its a good possability that they touch and probably fried the wires or water gt in them and boom rusted wires. Check these posabilities

Did you check the bulbs? Did you replace them? Dual Film bulbs for the brakelights/taillights

Check your grounds. Usually where I start with electrical after fuse's. Might be a loose ground somewhere.

Check either your circuit boards or bulb sockets. Might be bad, with corrosion built up in them.
