Out of those two I would recommend visionautoworks... you might want to give blackflamecustoms a shout as well.

Lmk if you need help with configuration.

Will do a bit more research.

Is the 230$ extra for upgraded projector (from mini H1 to FX-R) worth it?

I am also trying to find the shroud I like best out of what they offer as well.

So many options [emoji58]

I haven't been keeping up too much with projectors. In the old days it would definitely have been worth it, but the last version of the MH1 are very good. The only thing is that you obviously won't be able to use OEM D2S bulbs with the MH1s. A good set of OEM bulbs is about $170 so you're saving about $400 by going with an MH1 setup that will perform at about 95% of an FX-R setup. If you were going to spend the extra $ to upgrade projectors there are better OEM ones than the FX-R anyway, which itself is a replica projector, albeit a good one.

Are the mini ones smaller looking? They just kind of sound downplayed because of their name lol.

And the shroud is pretty much just visual preference correct?

825 seems like a decent price for a set including new headlights and low beam hid kit.

They don't look smaller, they are slightly smaller in length ... this is important for you because anything with more length will require you to drill a little hole in the vertical beam behind the projector. I believe I have seen FX-Rs squeeze in there as well but I can't remember. Keep in mind that it's easy to squeeze bigger projectors if you push the projector forward inside the housing, heck I've seen people have the shroud rest directly against the clear plastic of the housing, but it looks like ass.

There is a thread somewhere on hidplanet with all the different projector measurements, but if whomever is doing your retrofit has any experience with NNBS Tahoe headlights then they will be able to walk you through the options.

Cool, very good info. Will probably contact a few places including black flame since yours looked so good.

Cool, but just for the record black flame hasn't done any retros for me, they just do a good job and I think it's all been positive feedback from those who've bought from them.

The most important thing in retrofits is skill, a close second is customer service. Headlights are obviously a critical part of the vehicle and if something were to fail you want to know that you have someone to talk to and who will get you back on track asap.

Got confused for a bit - I meant to say I would give custom lights an email because I liked yours a lot.

And I agree headlights are not just for looks but safety and would definitely want them done by somewhere trustworthy.
