...a convenient store worker asked if I was an undercover cop, Auto Zone tried to give me a law enforcement officer discount (I took the military discount), and a sheriff's deputy asked me what department I was with. I have yet to find out if people will clear the left lane on my two hour drive to work...we will see next week.

As long as you don't go as far as having the strobe lights you'll be ok. If you start putting the red and blue strobes on you might could in trouble for attempting to impersonate. That's funny that so many folks just assumed :)

Yeah...I like my job too much to get in trouble for that. But yes...it is funny that they just assume. I do however find it concerning that you can purchase strobe LEDs from places like Auto Zone. I guess it's what you do with them that can get you in trouble or not. Use it to pull over people = trouble. Using them in your bonus room to light up the stripper pole = no trouble.

 well said....on the other hand if you were to take your hoe to shows having a set of blue and red strobes just for shows would be cool :)

This thing is a double edged sword! Drivers break their neck getting out of my way on the interstate...but they drive the EXACT speed limit on two lane roads.

You wanna have some fun. Get a night rider red led for the grille. And when you know you got them stuck to the rear view scared....turn it on.

I can see how driving a truck like yours could go either way... looks great though, enjoy.

Same with my exploder. Blacked out windows so looks like an undercover over here. No badging and base wheels so people get scared whenever I roll by slowly

Defer to state laws, brotha. Here in CO, even having reds/blues installed facing the front (whether they are even wired to turn on or not!) can land you in serious trouble. Too many folks impersonating cops around here a few years back.

And I agree about the double edged sword comment. People move out of the way in a hurry on the highway, but on the surface roads...you're stuck doing the speed limit. :D
