My engine, that is.......

213,449 miles, and she's toast. Dunno if I threw a rod, or spun a bearing, or the oil pump gave up the ghost. She's banging, clanging, grinding and overheating.... kinda sounds like this fat girl I used to bone in college (for lack of a better thing to do on a Friday night....)

Just dropped over 3K into my '96 since last summer, have all new frontend, new FI spider, new brakes, new 20's w/ Pirelli Scorpions, have 4 doors and a hood to swap on before I texture/paint her in a Lagoon Blue...

Do I dump her by the wayside, or drop another 2K plus on a new heart for the girl?

Just get a new long block, easy fix and an opportunity for a nice fresh engine. Unless of course you have to pay a shop to do all the work.

just rebuild it. It's not that hard. You just need to buy some tools, but any monkey can rebuild a 350.

Oil pressure before - 40-45psi
Afterwards - about 20psi, until I tried to drive it closer to home (was 65mi from home, @ $3.75/mi over 10 miles....) before getting towed, now it's Zero.

And... while driving it, she overheated and shut down. Waited 40min to cool down, gt another 5 miles before it overheated again.

That's my problem.

IF I had a garage with space, IF I had all the tools I'd need, and (most importantly) IF I had enough time to do it I would.... but I'm in the process of buying a house that's going to need to be remodeled, on top of the 60+hrs a week I'm working....

Anyone recommend a place for a source for an engine? Unless the heads are warped, I don't think I'd need a long block, as most of my accessories are new(er), short block would most likely be fine.
