Well try this
Longtubes with Y pipe from kooks or ARH
Airaid intake tube, Cam and tune, and you looking on 70-80hp maybe more depends on how aggressive cam and tune you pick
I plan on getting another engine and tyranny, Sam set up, so I will be all set when this 1 blows

I will just leave this here for you viewing pleasure...

rps20190323_162656_166.jpg

I learned the hard way when I installed the JBA shorty headers and got rid of the cats.... lost a good amount of torque down low. These are big heavy trucks and you want all the Torque you can get... HP sells cars.. but torque is what gets you moving.

I ended up having a new Y-pipe built out of 2.25" pipe which restored all my lost torque and then some. Factory Y-pipe on my 5.3l was about 2.5"... that 1/4" makes a big difference.

It's not about back pressure but rather keeping the hot gases moving faster to improve scavenging.

Also long tubes are better for higher RPM HP but not so good for lower RPM TQ which is where most of your normal driving takes place around town.

6.2L came with 3.5" tail pipe from the Y-pipe back from the factory.

2.5" Y-pipe is more than enough for the 6.2L unless you are going with a power adder like FI.

Your engine is about 403 HP from the factory... 2.5" Y-pipe is good for 463 HP... unless you are doing some serious upgrades you won't gain 60+ HP from intake, exhaust, and a tune.

If you start changing the cam and tune for it you might get close.

Remember long tubes will move the power band higher in the RPM range... not ideal for a heavy truck.

Call that's why the damn why pipe is so damn expensive it's overly price on my Excursion it was like $200 this one is like 600, I figured I will not replace the cam and just wait for the new engine unless there's an upgrade at 1 when I get the new engine. Long tube headers and y pipe on Kooks I'm speak texting so it's probably going to spell it wrong Kooks website is about 2100
