I might have found a gem that is about 1/2 mile from my American Legion post

LOL! I get it. If you guys want I can just stop posting what I may get and just wait till I actually get something and then post. I just like to get opinions for these things and I am not willing to pay more than I think something is worth just because I want it or the used car market is high. I am getting ready to look at this one. He is bringing by here today for me to look at. Tell me what you think........................or not. :D

Just a second boys and girls....the wife just texted me and she is talking to her husband about my last offer. I told you she wants that rig gone.

Updates soon.

She texted me that she is working him hard to accept my offer but no guarantees.

You guys are gonna shit if I get this for $7700.

I even told them that I would help with any concerns on her 2013 and would post problems here, if any, for the newer rig members to help with. Plus he has his heart set on an Avalanche and I used to own one. I talked him out of the 07 Avalanche yesterday that he drove 250 miles round trip to look at. The seller freely admitted to having AFM problems with it but the seller said he priced accordingly. He even thanked me with a handshake when I showed to look at the Z71.
I am sticking to my guns at $7700.

Ron, you keep being you. It’s always interesting watching you go through the process of finding another rig. Your searches will live on forever on the forum. You’ll be able to look back years from now and see what you went through to find a new rig.

Yea, now me and the wife are negotiating. She wants the rig gone because he said he is getting an Avalanche and they have no room. I am sticking at $7700 and she has been at $8k and now down to $7900. I know it will fall to me at $7700 but the game has to be played. I think she sees the value of my knowledge for her 13 Tahoe and whatever Avalanche he gets. I will honor my commitment too. I will not make a deal at $7700 and then turn my back on a promise. He is a Viet vet and I would not do that to him. Plus, their rigs should make for some interesting posts in the future. I do want the rig. I am not just playing with them. Hell, I should tell him that if he sells to me I will pay his $50 American Legion years dues.

I'd have to say that $7,700 (plus incentives) is a plenty fair offer. It's been for sale for over three months and they now have a serious offer within a couple hundred bucks of their minimum. They seem to be more stubborn or more patient than you! They seem to have no problem hanging onto it over a $200 difference, so you have to ask yourself if you're willing to lose it over a $200 difference. Although slow to move, at least for now, there are far more buyers than rigs of this vintage in this condition.

Y'all are at a $200 split- a mere 2.6% difference. Is it not worth either of you to come up and down $100?

The wife wants it gone at $7700 and with me other offers of help but he is at $8000 and that is $300 I am not willing to pay. Hell, I already saved him from buying the Avalanche and that was before I even looked at the Z71. It is not the end of the world if I don't get that rig. It isn't like it is a unicorn. Plenty more out there and what I still have in the back of my mind is the help I already gave him that saved him money and the experience of the 07 Avalanche with known by the seller AFM problems. He also posted it as in excellent condition and he did agree with me that it was in good shape and not excellent. Like I said, if I miss out, I am just fine with that. Some may call me crazy but it is what it is.

I use the phrase, "I love to spend other people's money for them" and that is what is happening here. I am ok with any member telling me I should cave in but it is in fact my cash. I will spend it but only on my terms and feel I am fair with the guy with $7700 and info and 1/2 price labor offer and the paying the $50 American Legion post membership fees for a year.

That's just it, it is not $7800. It is my offer of $7700 and the wife wants to take it but he is at $8k. I will let the wife stew and work on him. She sees the value of all that I am offering. Maybe some here don't but it is my choice, just like if one of you were in my shoes. I would not want to tell any of you that you are making a bad deal or even talk you in to buying at a higher price than you feel it should be. I guess my perception of value can be different than others here but that is just me. None of the things you guys say about just pay the bigger price bothers me because that is your opinion and I appreciate that but I am going to do what I am going to do. As I offered earlier, if the threads of mine about what I am bidding on drive some of you crazy, I will stop and just post when I do actually buy, or pay attention to the thread title and don't open it for fear of another time you would have to tell me how to buy. :D
