A 17 year old vehicle you bought for $1300 can't be a lemon. A lemon a piece of crap right off the dealer lot.
You bought a used car, and a poorly maintained cheap one at that. But that's what you get when you buy a vehicle at 60% what a good running one goes for. You get problems and a never ending drain on your wallet.

White smoke is water/coolant. I'd bet on some seriously leaky intake gaskets.

DAMMIT!!! What the hell did I tell you guys over and over about pouring Seafoam into a vacuum line?

here we go again....

I new about the radiator but it got worse and the gauge goes up to about 235+ I believe. Whatever the half way mark between 190 and 260 is.

Don't drive it anymore, with temps that high I would def check your coolant levels, sounds like you have a leaking head gasket for sure and if it overheats anymore, you could crack a head or worse which then gets super, super expensive. Do an oil change too and see if your oil comes out looking like a milkshake (in my case the coolant and oil were nicely separated.....)

I don't think I have a leaking head gasket. The temp gets that high for a minute or two then backs down to 210. I think it's just air getting into the system because I have a leak in the radiator by the oil line fitting.

That could be a possibility or maybe your thermostat.

Yeah Im thinking the thermostat is a problem too because the radiator hoses are original from 1996:uhoh2: I read the date stamped on the upper hose. So if they haven't been replaced I bet the thermostat hasn't been changed.
