OK, I have 2 power acoustik pen12-w subs in a ported box off eBay. Well I noticed a nice smell commingle from them the day I put them in and figured I was breaking them in. after that I started to hear a bad noise from them like they were bottoming out. I looked at the box and realized it wasn't sealed. Just nailed and carpeted no seams were glued. So I sent it back and put my subs in a sealed box I have and I'm hearing the same noise from them but it's only on some songs. They are ran off a bamf 2000/1d and I know the amp isnt geeting or sending a cliped signal. So I was wanting to know i damaged them from the ported box not being sealed. Thanks!

I kinda doubt it but anythings possible. Maybe u killed it with a heavy bass song? On my old sub don't remember brand but they were old and I played bass cannon lol and the glue came off of the cone so I just gave them away and the guy reglued them and they work still. Check the cone
