Can anyone tell me if I can convert a conventional steering to rack and pinion on my 01 Yukon?

Can anyone tell me if I can convert a conventional recirculating ball steering box to rack & pinion on my '01 Yukon?

Is it possible that an owner LATER converted a RWD with R&P, to AWD or 4WD?I once read here someone said they have seen a 4x4 with rack and pinion, which I didn't know they even made.

The early GMT800 2wd trucks have rack and pinion, 4x4 got gearbox. I'm pretty sure it's related to coil spring vs torsion bars suspension differences. I once read here someone said they have seen a 4x4 with rack and pinion, which I didn't know they even made. I can't recall who it was or what the thread was about...
Edit: I thought about it more and I don't think it's possible to do a direct swap. My 99 Silverado with the steering rack has a different front crossmember (it's super wide and has 2 holes where the rack and pinion bolts through.) Your truck doesn't have this type of crossmember...
