I want to install a double din, how do I keep my RSE through speakers?

Hi all, my factory six disc is starting to act up. Ive talked to Crutchfield about going with an aftermarket double din. Keeping the steering wheel controls is no problem but keeping the rse sound through the speakers is not. Apparently only 07-14 have a harness for this. Has anyone figured this out? That part is kind of a deal breaker for me. Thanks.

It can be done, you need the correct harness. It been discussed here many times...

IF your OE radio was the source of activating RSE (by hitting the source button) you can use this harness. If activation was somewhere else like the rear controls, then no you can't

At first I thought great that will work, but I don't turn the dvd player on from the head unit. I flip it down and turn it on from the controls on the ceiling. When its on and playing, it hit the cd/rse button on the head unit and sound comes through the speakers.
