i want to lift my tahoe

i wanna lift my 2003 tahoe, the previous owner told me my tahoe is a 4x4.. all he said is that he "CANCELED" it because it was giving him transmission problems.. would it be hard to convert my tahoe back to 4x4??

Do you still have the:
4x4 buttons on your dash still?
transfer case?
front drive shaft?
Still have front cv axles?

Id get under and look for a t case. Might have just taken out front driveshaft or replaced trans and alot more work..

He might have just unplugged the system. Thats the easiest and cheapest way to do it. My four wheel drive was giving me transmission problems so i unplugged it for a few months and plugged it back in and it stopped the problems. what is the year of your tahoe?

How do i check if it's disconnected? It's an 03..

you got me on that one. mine is an 07. i dont know the difference between the two systems. id try to get in touch with the previous owner and ask what he did and what to do to fix it.

@ben:i didnt really care for it much in the beginning, since its sittin nice & low, but a dropped truck gets boring after a while..that's why i want to lift it..take it mudding!#
