I'm in central VA. I need an idea of how much it would cost to paint my tahoe a different color? It's pewter now. I'm a VT fan and want to paint it Maroon. I want door sills, everything repainted. No half A$$ stuff. Does anyone know who I should turn to for this?

Find a good body shop - NOT a Maaco. Requires a lot of dis-assembly, possibly straighten any panel that has damage, trim out, etc. Its a very involved process. Like Joe said - $3-6k to be done RIGHT.

Doesn't wrap fade and peel? I know they make tough stuff, but it can"t be as good looking as paint. Plus, I wouldn't be able to handle the inside of the doors being a different color...lol. Look's cheap. So 3-6k. How do you figure who does a good paint job? Ask facebook buddies?

Read some reviews on body shops, both independent and dealership shops. If you're not in a huge hurry, shop around, but let them know you are serious about doing it. I cant tell you how many people come into our shop and ask how much to repaint a car, and they get sticker shocked and never come back. They end up going to Maaco for $299 for the whole car, and wonder why it looks worse than it did before. Keep in mind, if you want something like the firewall painted, you're talking even more money. Its a lot more work than taping off and shooting it.

The wrap will last five to seven years if it's quality material. Personally I think wrap looks better than paint but then again that's what keeps my bills paid. I can do a crew cab F250 for about $2000.-$2500. So that gives you some sort of ball park for pricing...
