Some LS1 guys upgrade to the factory round truck versions with the metal heatsinks on the top. See if you have those, if so I wouldn't bother.

Coils kind of either work or they don't, not much performance to be lost using older ones AFAIK.

There are HiPo coils available, not sure there is much to be gained there on a mostly stock vehicle.

SPark plug wires do degrade AFAIK, and replacing those with new ones would be a good idea if yours are original.

^^^^ Agreed... At very best you'll regain a little throttle response and smooth idle that the truck has lost due to age. Performance coils and wires only help engines that make serious power and truly need more ignition power. Those "performance" wires are pretty much snake oil, there really isn't a need for 12mm plug wires on a stock truck. I went with a set of MSD superconductors on my Escalade mainly because I got a killer deal on them and I've had good luck with MSD's stuff in the past. Just go with a quality name brand set or OEM and you'll be fine. I really wouldn't waste the money on new coils unless you are having issues with them. You going to replace the plugs too? While your at it I'd clean the TB and MAF really good. My TB was pretty nasty inside, they get a nasty coating of oil in the intake. Cleaning out my TB made more of a difference in throttle response than the new plugs and wires did.
