It's really a shame. Much like VW from the 90's when my generation was buying their first cars and got burned, either by the car (looking at you Jetta) or the shady af dealerships, a whole swath of us have forever swore off VW/Audi. My wife wouldn't even consider the Q7. GMC has just firmly entered the same category with their inability to manage expectations/supply chain.

It'll be interesting in 5-7 years when these cars are hitting the market, and you have to see what sort of COVID spec it ended up being. Oh, that one never got the ventilated seat blower, or the heated wheel, or wireless charging. Maybe the parking sensors weren't installed, or the heated steering wheel. Ah yeah, that one didn't get the rear camera mirror. But they're competing with vehicles a couple years older that are better equipped.

Best of luck to you all.
Yeah no doubt it's a crappy situation. But everything you mentioned is a retrofit. Meaning it will get installed at a later date when they contact you. It's really not the end of the world. Just have to be patient.

Inventories will be getting better and orders will arrive sooner with the interest rates increases. The Fed will be increasing another half point in December so that will take another group of buyers out of the market due to increased car payments. You might be able to find what you want on a lot. When we ordered our high country I placed an order a four dealers. I told them who ever gets allocation first gets my business.

That ASSumes manufacturers want to build more vehicles, which several CEO'S have hinted is not their new business plan.
Half a point interest rate hike will have no effect on a $80,000 vehicle.
Welcome to the new world order...

Everyone has to do what works for them. I'm definitely not a GM-loyalist, but for me I need a larger SUV like the XL/Suburban. An X7 or Sequoia or Infinity, etc. just won't cut it. So I have 3 options: The GM solution, the Ford Expedition and the new Wagoneer L. I'm not crazy about the Ford's "EcoBoost" and how they look. The Wagoneer L is a brand new model with questionable reliability in their future. And the GM solution is the only one with the small diesel option which its owners seem to rave about.

So I'm holding out for my diesel Denali XL. If for some reason GM can't deliver the diesel, I'll just make do with what I have.

I'm done waiting for GMC to get thier act together. After 11 months since the first order and then changing the order to a 2023, I cancelled the order. GMC can't build a $93,000+ vehicle (2023 Yukon Denali Ultimet)? I won't buy a rice burner so I'm just keeping the Durango.
Its frustrating...I would wait it out.....you'll be happier later. Durango sucks ;) lol jk...well not really..

I feel for you. I have had a bunch of issues with my Escalade 2021. Started to get annoyed and I went to price a range Rover extended. Those guys told me 24 months. I’m like whatever. Two years is crazy talk. Sounds like it’s everywhere though

I order a g wagon, lwb range rover, and escalade all within a couple of months. The escalade came first. The g wagon about a month after the escalade. The range is still in the "waiting pool". Maybe by the time I get tired of the escalade, the range will be built.

Land rovers are known for having less issues than an Escalade? Bahahahaha. Land Rover is a joke when it comes to building a vehicle. Between squeaky brakes, coolant leaks, check engine lights, and an infotainment screen that blacks out every other drive cycle. Did mention squeaky brakes? Tire and brake replacement every 25,000 miles.

GM will build a better luxury truck. It may not be as unique as a Range Rover but a Tahoe/ Yukon / Escalade will work and keep your family safe.

Why is GM marketing a vehicle they can not build? They have plenty of orders / demand. Stop spending money on advertising and spend it on an apology campaign for not being able to fill orders.

I placed an order for a Z71 6.2 and air suspension in may. Order still has not been accepted. I am willing to go with a Denali reserve but that seems just as hard to get as the Tahoe.
Now considering a GLS or a Q7. BMW is too ugly. Land Rover is definitely not an option.

What else are y’all considering buying?

There isn’t much else out there that can tow my boat or car hauler that doesn’t look like a turd and has the same rear storage space. The expedition / navigator just isn’t my style…my BIL recently got a navigator and the interior is really nice and spacious but the exterior styling is lacking.

So, I wait!

I’m so glad I don’t need a new car these days. In about a year the lots will be filled with vehicles, plus incentives.
