dont do ceramic they are a sales tactic aimed at people that dont like brake dust. they will be fine on a car or something but not a big ass tahoe or truck they arnt up for the job. go to advanced and ask one of the smart guys and they will explain it for you.

Incorrect, a quality ceramic pad is an excellent choice for these big bastards especially if you drive your truck hard. Most people will benefit best from a ferro carbon pad like the hawk LTS and they're great for towing as fade is drastically eliminated. Not everyone who works at an auto parts store is well educated in regard to individual parts on specific vehicles so I would recommend researching different pads to find the best choice for what you're doing with the truck. I personally have never experienced premature wear from a slotted rotor, the gaps just aid in releasing the gases built up from the pressure on the rotor surface. Stay clear of the cross drilled oem replacement rotors as they are prone to cracking in climates with great temperature variances.

Thanks for the info Max.

I had Hawk HPS pads on my car, with the OEM rotors, and it made a massive difference in stopping power and grip. I was very impressed, and they were pretty big, sporty brakes to begin with.

I'll probably get the Hawk LTS pads and see if I need new rotors or not. Not even sure I do, and if I don't I won't worry about it.
