Looks like the issue is fixed! The culprit is a screen that sits between the oil sensor and the oil flow. It gets gunked up over time which in turn leads to false readings.

Here's a pic of the screen that was removed

:waytogo: this is why forums are so great. Knowledge sharing. I'm sure there are other things that can cause this condition but will hopefully give people a place to start when troubleshooting

My 6.0 has run flawless for the 8 years I have owned. I wonder if its a 6.2 issue. Most Ls based engines are bullet proof unless you own one of them alum block engines.
