Increase axle loads and GVWR for Yukon XL - change axles with Sierra HD

The GMC Yukon XL (2018) is built on the platform GMTK2XX. The same as the GMC Sierra HD (2018). Correctly? The complete code is different, I know: GMTK2YG for the Yukon XL and GMTK2HG for the Sierra HD.

Is it possible to change the front and the rear axles from the Sierra to the Yukon without any modifications?

My problem is that I want to increase the GVWR of the Yukon, but the axes of the Yukon are overloaded with it.

As I found out, the Sierra HD has an axle load of 4400 lbs on the front axle and 6200 lbs on the rear axle. For the Yukon XL I couldn’t find any data about the axle loads. But the GVWR for the Sierra HD is with 9500 lbs much higher than the 7500 lbs for the Yukon XL.

Or does anyone have another idea how to reinforce the axes of the Yukon?

No they are not the same. For one, rear suspension on the HD is leaf spring and the Yukon is coil. Front hubs / spindles / diff and axles are all different. What are you towing that you need the capacity?

Too bad that the axles are not easily replaceable.

I work in a company that armored vehicles. That's why we need to strengthen the axles.

Get a Duraburb. I'm sure they would convert your Yukon XL with a Sierra 2500 HD chassis and drivetrain, hell they could even do a 3500 HD chassis and drivetrain if you wanted. Then viola!!

In the long run doing a conversion like this would be best as you would have everything else in the chassis and drivetrain that goes along with obtaining that additional towing capacity you're looking for and not just the axles.

You need to look at getting a Suburban 3500 HD that’s got the increased GVWR designed for armored vehicle applications. If your customer likes the looks of the YukonXL it would be way easier to swap out the front clip than to try and replace the drive train.
