I am just looking for towing info on the NNBS suv's including transmission temps and pictures.

I just bought a 26' holiday trailer. Loaded full of gear and the fresh water tank full the trailer weighs in at 3260kg/7186lbs while hooked up. The Yukon XL loaded with a full tank of fuel, 4 adults, 4 children and a great dane weighed in at 3500kg/7715lbs.

My Yukon is equipped with the HD towing package but does not have the transmission cooler?!?!. Does yours???

My transmission temps reached 98c/208f in the rain, which is too high for my liking. What are your temps???

What aftermarket cooler are you running?

The vehicle likes to pull in 4th gear at roughly 2300 rpm (95km).

Trailer weight = 3260kg/7186lbs
Vehicle weight = 3500kg/7715lbs
Front Tires only w/trailer = 1510kg/3328lbs

I think I am 300kgs over?

Also I am running Coilrites airbags at 30psi

Any info or pictures of your vehicle towing is appreciated. THANKS

That is a 6.0 2500 Yukon XL right??
So I imagine you have a 4l80 tranny?

I have a 6l80 in my Escalade and with just me in it and on a 90F day, my transmission reaches close to 180-190F. I think its too hot for my liking but I have asked many people including GM trans specialists and they say its fine. I'm running stock cooler.

tranny

what's the tranny temp driving around town, without a trailer?

I think mine is around 180 or so...

You need to know the baseline before you can say something is high

SW CT,
If you are consistantly seeing over 200*F then you need to get a better cooler, look into the Tru-Cool 40k, lots of performance based trucks are running them and seeing max temps around 140. When I tow with my tahoe with factory aux. cooler I can push 180-190*F on a mild day, mix in higher ambient temps. and it goes up...empty I typically see 130-140 but I am going to upgrade to the 40k. For GM to say over 200*F is okay/normal is just like them saying that burning 2qts. of oil in 1000miles is within spec. Just because it falls within their specs. doesn't mean its right.

I have a Tahoe as well and in the mountains I would go on long 20 mile descents and would kick it down a gear and would hit 190's in freezing temps... was interesting.
