installed a txdashcover dash cap

So I have the same dash crack that every tahoe, avalanche, suburban, yukon, and denali from 07-13 has.
I have replaced this dash already with a oem dash for it to just crack again.

First here is the finish pictures I am happy with it I think it does not stand out if you did not own this truck I don't think you would see it.

I started sanding the dash down with some 220 grit







Sprayed it down with windex (says a ammonia type window cleaner)



I decided to take a soldering gun and try to melt the cracks back together (hoping to prevent rattles later)







test fit



put a bead down of the supplied silicone



put it down I wedged a blanket into the windshield taped the edges and but weights and clamps down

That came out well. My suburban came with a dash carpeted pad that reminds me of the older square body trucks or the vans my dad drove in the 80's. Memories sure, but definitely not the look or feel I want to achieve.

I am for sure happy with the way it came out by the way they are on sale for 199 right now I have no clue how long the sale will last though

Thanks I was already at their site looking around and saw the sale. I was wondering if you went with the black or with the ebony. Funny always figured that those were two different words for the same color.

It is a little difficult to tell from the pictures, but how shiny is the cover? did the 'glare' from the dash on the windshield stay the same? It's ABS, so if I go that route, I was thinking about hitting it with a flat clear coat to try and minimize glare. One advantage of placing a rug on the dash I guess.

I went with black the color is a perfect match. I don't think it has any glare to it I think it is about the same sheen as the original dash

I think ebony is the tan color I think

Every 'ebony' I've seen was a very dark gray or black.

I see you didn't pull the A-pillar trim before installing the cover. Would that have made the install better, or possibly hurt trying to pull the A-pillar trim later, if you have to?

Otherwise, I agree, it looks pretty good. May consider that solution for our Tahoe. The dash is cracked in about 3 places now.

The a pillar trim pulls off still as a matter of fact I pulled it off the next day to run a wire
I am not sure about the color you might have to call or email them
