Yes. I put an 05 unit in it. Got a good deal on ebay. Now I just have to visit the dealer to reset the vin.

Re Radio

I am planning on doing the same thing. I would like to know how much the dealer charged you. Thanks in advanced.

I did this in my avalanche and the dealership charged me $100 to re-program the factory nav unit.

I called around the Houston area, the cheapest I found was $98.50. They were able to work me in Monday. I sat around for 2 hours for them to do the 15 minute procedure. Several of the dealerships acted like they had done this several times before while other seem confused about it so I guess it depend on who you call. Anyway mine is up and running. I have a total investment of $373.50 in the conversion. $210 for the radio (eBay), $65 for the new antenna (amazon) and $98.50 for the reprogram. The seller included two GM nav disks in factory boxes. Version 3 and 4. I know that these are a few years old. What number is the newest version? Also, does anything change besides the map when you get an update disk? Looks like they cost $200. That seems a bit steep to me.
