Installing Grille inserts

Got a pair of inserts like these

Do you guys who have inserts cut the stock plastic ones off and mount them with ty straps or something?

you need to cutout the plastic, and then mount them from the sides of the inserts. they should have 2 holes for screws on both sides. it's a pain in the ass to do it.

That's why I get the bolt over grilles for the chevy grills...

Oh, ok I see the holes on the sides thanks! Its cool though, im taking the whole grille out to paint it, so im sure that will make things butter....
Plus I got a sweet deal on these..

Cant argue about a sweet deal :) But yea taking the grille off will make things much easier!

i did my insert.i just took the grille off cut off the bars(yukon btw) with a hacksaw blade by hand. took a grinder and smoothed down the edges and then i sanded to make it smoothed.sprayed with black primer and paint then just screwed everything on and put the grille back in i thought it was gonna be a huge pain in the ass but then again air tools help

Lets see a pic... :)

I cut mine off with a dremel and smoothed it out with the dremel sanding drum.
