Has anybody installed lower gears in their Tahoe or Yukon? How much of a job is it? What ratio did you go with?

3.73 to 4.56 on mine. You'll need a press to get the pinion bearing on/off. You can probably tap it off with a block and hammer, but you risk damage to the bearing. Other than that, the job is fairly simple as long as you have a pinion depth tool or dial indicator to measure pinion depth. You have to make sure pinion depth and mesh pattern on the teeth are correct to keep your gears from wearing prematurely.
