Sorry didnt mean that all was well with the cluster. I meant with the new meter and voltages at various sensors. Im still trying to make sure i dont have electrical issues before i get it reprogrammed and put it in and kill it again. I believe by what the bulletin says that its a programming issue and the cluster should be fine. Im going through my grounds with sun getting locations and cleaning them to be sure its tip top as i also have the reduced engine power to deal with too. Thats the priority at the moment sorry but i need it running before i worry about how fast im going. Im also checking grounds because i have other electrical issues and actually killed the close position on my moonroof switch when i reconnected the batt. I can open it but not close it so now its sitting open an inch. Sounds like a ground to me but its cheap insurance to clean them anyway. Ill get back to you as soon as i can on the cluster.

Just had a thought. Does the vehicle keep the mileage accurate even if the cluster is dead and also if its removed like mine that ive had out for a few months now.

No the cluster is what keeps the recorded mileage, thus why when you go to buy a replacement one they need the VIN and mileage to program it to your truck otherwise you could find yourself in a legal situation if you go to sell it and the DMV miles don't add up to your cluster. I have a cluster issue with mine right now and it keeps the mileage accurate even though it keeps going in and out like I am turning the key on and off really fast while driving, doesn't affect the engine just the cluster. Mine also has a parasitic draw with the cluster goes from .025 amps draw with the cluster fuse out to .721 amps with the fuse installed.

If it is completely dead i dunno, i know when I leave mine in while it is doing its on and off b.s. that the mileage does gain. It will drive without it in but I just am keeping it parked until i figure out the issue. Well you can look and see what the mileage was at the last maintenance interval if it was done by a shop. Anything even your tires getting balanced should have a mileage on it, if you order one and tell them you think it is a certain mileage but are uncertain then legally you would have to report the mileage unknown to the dmv at registration time and I think you are supposed to put a sticker on your door that represents that the mileage has been altered. Kills the resale value. This is all just my understanding, I have not had to do this myself but might be in a similar boat as you.

Wonderful, my gages have been out since summer. Didn't even think anything of it, I thought the computer tracked it. Even thought I read somewhere on here about the dealer calibrating the mileage with a new cluster. So any ideas on what yours is doing? A guy on here told me could be from the switch and that it was a wire back to his transmission.

My cluster doesn't work either. The speedometer is stuck on 55 mph and a few others work when they want to. ALSO.. almost every time I accelerate, my 'Traction Active' kicks on and I can't go any faster until I physically take all the pressure off the accelerator and then press it again.

(I'm not so car-savvy)

Probably the cluster is dying or a ground. You could also wiggle the wiring harness plug in the back of the cluster, they arent that hard to take out. Also mine was doing the traction active too but only from a complete stop and it wound up being the 4 wheel drive hub/bearing assembly on its way out but wasnt showing signs yet like grinding or thumping for another month. To check those jack up the front end and wiggle the tires from the top and bottom and if theres play its probably a bad hub also you can spin the tires to listen for grinding.
