Ok so I put my deposit in for my in person tune for Black Bear to work there magic next month on my truck. But my question is do I replace my stock air box loaded with a K&N with an intake? In the past I had one on my M3 and even with the Dinan chip it hurt the bottom end, then I did a Blitz intake and exhaust on my Lexus GS400 and it was horrible. Great mid-range and sounded excellent but not worth it HP wise.....

Now I am a little older and dont want my truck to sound like a hooopty but I am interested in some more power. So is an intake worth it? Which manufacturer would you recommend? Or just go with the BB tune and call it a day?

Any other mod's I can do before getting the tune that will gain me a few hp?

An intake can provide benefits when the engine is tuned for it, so I would definitely say, if you are getting an inperson tune, have the intake on there already.

That being said, which intake you want to go with depends on how much $$$ you want to spend and appearance. We did independent testing on a few intakes we sell a while back, and the AidAir came out as the best bang for the buck. It may not be the nicest looking one, but it got the job done.

We do sell all major brand name intakes, and are happy to get you quotes on them if you wish.

I am not concerned about looks so the AidAir should be fine. How much shipped to 11354?

I didn't see it specifically mentioned here, but I will tell you that the testing jenna is talking about is for the Airaid JR kit. You don't need the full blown CAI and cone filter. I just got mine last week and put it on. Install was pretty easy and I could instantly tell that I had a bit more power. it wasn't like there was now a turbo on my truck, don't get me wrong, but the throttle response was definitely better. With my truck being stock, you can certainly notice even the slightest increase because this thing is pretty bogged down without a tune. I got mine on Ebay with a "make an offer" to a buy it now listing. I also got the non-oiled version which I would recommend.
