I have a 98 yukon and recently have a problem with my interior lights staying on. I have to push in the "dome override" button to turn them off. Ive found the problem i hope..Im missing the switch that is under the tailgate window hatch. I cant find it on line and it looks a little different than the door jamb switch. Any ideas?:emotions122:

Well I replaced the switch assembly in the rear tail gate hatch and i still have the problem. Only now i hear the clicking noise from under the dash as the light flickers on and off again. I gotta find the thread i read in the past about someone having the same issue.:893Chainsaw-Smilie-:893Chainsaw-Smilie-

I had that problem too recently. Ended up being the dome override switch spring wasnt doing its job. I took it appart and re set it in place. Be forewarned though, It was a biotch putting it back together when I accidently pushed off the main light switch and the springs and bearings came flying off..

I'm thinking back, since my truck does this also. My upper glass doesn't latch too tightly, or it works itself loose over time. I believe that the remedy I read was someone either using 2-sided tape or gluing something to the inside of the glass, right where the switch hits the glass.

Essentially what is happening is that the switch is "opening and closing" as you are hitting bumps in the road. This will turn the light on and off. It gets quite annoying!! :boxed:

unknown at this time.
That clicking sound is the interior light module controlling the light output. Is there any other door that does not act correctly or have a switch that movement feels different then the other?

I had this problem. It ended up being bad light switches in the door jam. My driver side was not closing all the way. I bought all new switches on rock auto for like 2 dollars a piece.
