I have a 2004 Tahoe with digital climate controls. Lately, both front and rear have been pumping out A/C cold air much more than the normal automatic setting (74 degrees). Today, it's about 75 degrees out, and I cranked up the temp to 85, but the fronts continued to pump out cold air. I turned up the rear to 82, and it also pumped out cold air, even after five minutes. It seems that the front will only switch to heating and floor vents if I turn it up to 90 degrees. Anyone know of a quick fix or diagnosis for this? It has been working fine for years.

Definitely need to check the cabin sensors.

Helps to have a tech2 to do this. Basically, turn the car on and let it run for a few mins to stabilize the inside temps.

Buy a quality thermometer (like one for measuring temps while cooking foods, etc.) Those stupid fridge thermometers are garbage.
Place thermometer by the cabin temp sensor which is above your head if your sitting in the driver's seat.
Yes...that is NOT a microphone as much as it looks like one. It is a sensor with a fan that pulls air over it to measure the cabin temps.

While using the tech2 or another scanner that can do so, check the cabin temp sensor reading versus what your thermometer is reading. If they're crazy off value and different then your cabin temp sensor could be bad.

They're not that expensive either. Could just put another one in and see what happens.
Hope this helps you and others :)
