For the last 6 months I've had this intermittent problem where the 05 Yukon XL Denali won't start. It seems to be completely random but is getting worse to the point where I can;t start it multiple times EVERY day. I had it in to the dealer who told me they couldn't reproduce it. Then I had it back to them and they experienced it, but can;t figure out what it is. No codes.
What happens: Turn the key (or use remote start) and all lights/electronics come on as normal, but no start. It doesn't try to crank - there's just nothing. Sit there and turn the key on and off 50 times and eventually it'll start up like it should. Lately it takes 50+ turns and maybe 5+ minutes before you get lucky.
If I open the hood and listen while I start it with the remote starter I hear a loud click somewhere around the front of the engine maybe.
I've been going through the coolant a lot lately and often when I start the car I get a big plume of white smoke. The dealer though maybe it could be a coolant leak into the engine that could be causing some sort of vapor lock type issue with starting.
I'm at a loss on what to do and I'm starting to get callouses on my right hand from turning the key 100 times a day. Any ideas?
