intermittent starting

some times i go out and my hoe cranks fine other times it has been an issue my mechanic and i figited and switched between keys think t may be ignition switch. it happened again on my way to drop my son off at daycare. what could it be in the ignition..when u figit wit the key over long periods of time it works eventually but im getting ready to go on vacation and cant risk getting stranded wanna nip this in the bud.

There's a few things to check. Could be a bad connection at the battery terminals. Check for battery acid, bad or loose battery connectors, fairly easy fix. The actual ignition switch could be bad, the starter, the starter solenoid. Those are all pretty common problems for starting issues. Good luck.
