inventory of fresh used seems to be more "normal" in my area of NE Wisconsin

I traded in my 2021 Chevy Suburban RST on 10-28-22 (spotless, 39k miles, sun roof, rear media). The local dealer has it listed at $66,899. Sits like a bump on a log they tell me. They also had a great 2019 Premier with 60k miles that sat for months at $44000 just recently sold.

We could be looking at a whole new ball game as we enter 2023.

we got lucky getting rid of our 22 Z71 with 15k on it around Labor Day - market was already turning and had to shop it some but I'd hate to think what we'd get today. Dealer got a little (lot) greedy and priced it $10k over what they paid for it when they said it would bring about $2k over at auction when they bought it...sat for two months and just when I don't see it for a few days it shows back up on the lot the next week

Agreed. The worm is about to turn.....this over inflated market can't last forever. There will be deals again if a guy is patient
