I've seen couple of videos online and decided to give it a try. I purchased the metra kit ($30) and an Ipad mini slider kit from ebay ($70). I cut up the metra kit and used epoxy to glue the slider kit together. I then used bondo to fill the sides and sanded/painted it. I cut out an opening for the stock screen/buttons and mounted the components behind the kit. put everything back together and connected a Kinivo BTC455 bluetooth receiver to my aux for the audio (since plugging in directly to the factory usb cause a 2 sec dialogue delay when watching videos). Jailbroke my ipad to unlock and start music when the truck is started and locks/pauses screen when the engine is turned off/door is opened. It was hesitant to perform this since i have no experience with bondo but it turned out better than I expected. I guess a temporary fix for the IO3 4.2 system. I also purchased a wireless backup cam that I will use in conjunction with an app on the ipad (I have yet to install). Works great and kids love it. Total cost about $220 (not including the ipad). You can find all the information w/a quick youtube search.

Thanks. I used an Ipad mini 2 w/cellular (AT&T). I just added a small 1gb data plan to use with pandora/maps (started off low to see how much I would actually use). Its 128 gb so I preloaded it with a bunch of kids movies and songs.
