Hello-
Someone jacked my stereo system a few weeks back and left me with out any tunes! Bastards. Anyway I was wondering if anyone has seen or knows alternative way to mount a head unit in a Yukon/Tahoe instead of the main dash. Ever heard of anyone just installing an ipod to run an amp and sub woofers as a head unit? I suppose I would need some kind of ipod control or sound processor. My buddy mounted his head unit in the console of his Jeep that is a locking style model. Something like that might work but is kind of a pain in the ass to change stations or songs. Just trying to brain storm an alternative. This is the 3rd time I have had my stereo stolen out of a vehicle and its getting old.

I had that setup in mine for a while, just ran a 1/8th to dual RCA into the first amp, then that output to another amp and I played my music thru my phone ...

How was the quality? I guess an ipod does not put out much pre-amp voltage

It was fine, I had an amp with selectable input voltage, I just matched it to my phone and it sounded fine.
