I am curious to know what it takes in order to simply plug an ipod into the system, so one can play the ipod tunes through the truck stereo system.

Here is the one I am using:

With our older radios that don't have an ipod jack-this route gives you great quality sound. Basically this system has 'jumpers' that go between your factory connections.

Remove the dash surround
Pull out the radio
Unplug the 2 conections to the radio
Plug those into the supplied jumpers
Plug jumper ends into radio
Plug wire into the convertor box.
Out of that box you have an ipod wire that plugs into the base of your ipod. I have my 'box" right behind the molding on the passenger side(by where your left foot would be).

After installing it-all you have to do is plug your ipod in to the cable-tune to XM and you are rockin' out ;)

I know its sounds complicated.....but it is really very easy. Like I said shoot me a PM if have any ???'s or need any pics.

How much was that interface? And would you mind PMing me some pics? Appreciate it!

I picked up a used one on ebay for like $50 since I left the same one in my previous GM vehicle as a condition of the sale. I think I paid around $125 new. Found some on ebay---here is one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRAND-NEW-U...250?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f156efa6a

Shoot me a PM with the pics you are looking for-I don't have any but I could take a few. I'm just not going to pull the radio out to take pics-I can take a shot of how I have the ipod cable sitting and where I put the 'box'. I think their website has a PDF for wiring instructions as well. Let me know.
