Is GMC Price Protection a Thing? Price Has Changed.

price protection should apply to both retail sold/stock - now granted this is just a "car" site and there aren't any copies of the GM memos to the dealers, but I'd think a conversation about price protection should be had even though it was put in as retail stock.

ultimately it just comes down to how much effort the dealer is willing to go down this road. Doubt that you are paying under invoice so they could still make plenty off your deal if they just knocked $1400 off. Hopefully they'll at least put forth the effort and research it on their end as to what needs to be done to "claim" the price protection from GM vs just telling you that you're SOL

I was ready to walk and my wife put her foot down. She didn't want to deal with the circus that is GM's ordering system again, so we bit the bullet. I'll have to get pics. going in next week to get the black badges - they were backordered.

My dealer got me partial price protection. I placed an order for 2022 suburban back in January; switched over to 2023 order in July.

GM said they'd price protect from when order converted to a 2023 model year; said they don't protect over model years.

Price increased ~$4k over the 10 months; GM (or what my dealer tells me they said) gave me $1500 price protection dating back to July.

Hot load of garbage in my opinion; if they would have built the car when I ordered it, I wouldn't have been on the hook for their price increases.

All this at a time of historic dealer profitability.
